Lancer
The ducted fan Lancer is vertical take off and landing UAV designed to provide a long range, persistent surveillance and reconnaissance platform.
Lancer is powered by an internally mounted, light weight, rotary engine utilising a new technique for distributing power to the dual ducted fan lift units. Kestrel Aerospace claims this produces a more fuel efficient and quiet vehicle compared to conventional fixed and rotary wing aircraft.
While no further information is available KA has said that it has received interest from potential government and military customers.
The aircraft is a scaled down version of KA’s Kestrel Personal Air Vehicle (PAV) which is currently under development.
A prototype aircraft is currently undergoing testing and certification with the CAA.
