Hawkeye

The hand launched Hawkeye is a small, easily transported UAV capable of an endurance of up to one hour over ranges of up to 10km, though this is usually limited to ranges of 5km.

A single aircraft can be carried along with its ground control station in a backpack and can be quickly assembled/disassembled by a minimum number of crew.

The system provides the controller with real time video data along with GPS positioning for navigation.

Hawkeye is capable of performing an autonomous mission following up to four GPS waypoints; alternative waypoints can be introduced at any time during flight allowing the vehicle to travel a complex route. In addition manual control can also be achieved with the use of a separate hand controller. If at any time during the mission contact with the vehicle is lost, the Hawkeye will automatically return to base.

The system is designed to be carried, operated and recovered by a crew of just two.
